Kirklees Choir

This choir began as U3A singing class in September 1984 to encourage choral singing for the 50+ age group. 21 people attended and it was soon decided to form a choir. The Choir’s MD is Eric Cooper, first Chairman of the Association of Yorkshire Choirs. Eric has led the choir since 1998 and the accompanist for over 10 years is Corinne Lord.

The choir now has a membership of over 100 and meets at Gledholt Methodist Church, Huddersfield at 10.15 am each Monday. New members are always welcome.

In September 2016 the choir rebranded as Kirklees Choir.
